LeBron James and Anthony Davis have started out guns blazing against the Golden State Warriors, with 51 points combined through three quarters. But not everyone on the Los Angeles Lakers is in midseason form just yet. Just ask Carmelo Anthony.

Melo hilariously faked out Warriors and Lakers teammates alike on his second attempt at the free throw line.

The Lakers forward clearly forgot that he was supposed to release the ball at the apex. Don't worry, Melo. It happens to the best of us.

Charity stripe blunder aside, Carmelo Anthony has had a productive first three quarters in a Lakers uniform, putting up nine points, four rebounds, and two assists for the purple and gold.

It's been the other Lakers addition Russell Westbrook who's had a truly rough debut thus far, tallying just six points on 3-of-11 shooting entering the final frame.

With this many new pieces on the roster, the first few games were always going to be a played on a learning curve as the players get assimilated to life alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

But a team with that much talent seems too good to fail. Look for the Lakers to slowly grow their chemistry together as the season rolls along.
