Los Angeles Lakers development coach Miles Simon had nothing but praise for Lonzo Ball's basketball instincts, tagging it as ‘off the charts.'

Speaking with Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Simon talked about Ball's feel for the game. He said that not everyone in the world is blessed with such a gift. On the defensive end, Ball's length coupled with his great timing have resulted into steals:

His instincts are off the charts. His feel for the game. The things he sees ahead of everybody else are just not things that are taught. Not a lot of people in the world have them. The passing, obviously. He can see and make passes that others can’t. Defensively, really off the ball, he’s so long and his anticipation is unbelievable. The steals that he gets. The blocks. The timing he has defensively.

Simon added that Ball is somewhat of a prodigy. He's just 20 years old but can already make great plays:

Those are all just natural gifts. It’s really fun to watch those things because that’s a guy you just put out on the floor and he can make plays where you can’t believe he’s 20 years old. The no-look passes, the full-court passes where he’s delivering it 80 feet right where Brook Lopez put his hand.

Simon is actually training with the Lakers' young core. For Simon, it is a step-by-step process. Ball intends to work on his ball-handling skills, adding heft to his frame as well. The Lakers have a bright future no doubt. And Simon is a big part of it.
