Following the Los Angeles Lakers' 115-101 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, sophomore guard Josh Hart gave an update regarding his nagging knee injury:

“I’m gonna meet with my doctors this week and I’m gonna figure stuff out. I’m just taking it a day at a time.”

Hart has suffered from knee tendinitis since January, which has limited his movement on the court. He tried to play through it, hoping that the All-Star break would help him recover, especially since he had platelet-rich plasma injections in his knee, but things haven't gone as planned:

“Not really, there wasn’t much time for it to really work. I knew there was a chance that it worked, a chance it didn’t work. Not enough time off.”

With a 31-40 record, the Lakers are all but officially out of the playoffs, and since Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball have already been shut down due to their respective injuries, it is likely that Hart won't play the remainder of the season.

Kyle Kuzma is the lone healthy body among the Lakers' once celebrated young core, but even he had to deal with several injuries this season.

It has been a very disappointing year for the Lakers and their fans. After a promising start that saw them reach the fourth seed in the Western Conference standings at one point, injuries and inconsistency killed their momentum.

They're now on the verge of missing the playoffs for the sixth straight year.
