The Los Angeles Lakers were unable to defeat the crosstown rival Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas, losing 111-106. However, Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma had himself a productive night, including scoring 15 in the first quarter to help the Lakers build a lead early on.

After the game, Kuzma spoke about playing healthy against the Clippers after missing the first game against them:

“This is what I look like when I'm healthy,” Kuzma said, per ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward. “I’m confident in my body. Like I said, I've been hurt all year. This is the best I've felt and my play the last few games has reflected it.”

Kuzma finished the game as one of the better Lakers players on the court. He scored 25 points, which was a team high for the night. Kuzma also tallied four rebounds in his 27 minutes of play, and he talked about sharing the court with LeBron James and Anthony Davis:

“I just play my game and be me. Space the floor, that's one thing. With LeBron and AD, those guys see space to operate and work … Anytime I get the ball, I'm looking to score and just be there for them. If they get stopped or chopped up, just when they pass it, be ready to shoot.”

While Kuzma hasn’t always been the most consistent player on the Lakers, he’s slowly beginning to round into form after dealing with injuries to start the season. If the Lakers want to capture another NBA championship, they’ll need him to perform at a high level.
