It an amazing game by Los Angeles Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma on Wednesday night. With a career-high 38 points on 12-of-17 shooting, Kuzma and the Lakers pulled off a stunning 122-116 upset on the road when they snapped the Houston Rockets' 14-game winning streak.

One person who took notice of Kuzma's incredible night was none other than Lakers legend Kobe Bryant himself, who had both his No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys retired to the rafters at Staples Center on Monday night. After the Lakers beat the Rockets, Bryant took to Twitter and showed his respect for Kuzma with just a single emoji.

During his postgame interview with Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, Kyle Kuzma channeled his inner Mamba Mentality when asked if he expected to score like this as a rookie.

“Oh yeah,” Kuzma said without hesitation. ”No problem.”

This was quite an impressive win for the Lakers, to say the least, especially because they were able to close out the Rockets down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Rockets superstar guard James Harden, who recorded his seventh career game with over 50 points, finished with a game-high 51 points and nine assists in his team's loss.

Forward C0rey Brewer came off the bench to score a season-high 21 points against his former team while rookie point guard Lonzo Ball had himself another solid game with 16 points on 5-of-14 shooting, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.

On Friday night, the Lakers will look to pull off another upset when they visit the defending champion Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. The Lakers have lost both games in overtime to the Warriors at Staples Center this season, including Monday's 116-114 defeat on Bryant's jersey retirement night.
