Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma says he's glad he got to witness what was likely the final on-court meeting between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade:

“That's like a legendary hoop moment,” Kuzma said during his postgame interview. “I was glad to witness it, especially at the end of the game when they went 1-on-1 for a second. That was pretty cool.”

Though they're no longer teammates, the friendship that James and Wade share is evident. The two stars met for one last matchup Monday night when the Lakers served as hosts to the Heat.

James and Wade battled right down to the final buzzer. With the game on the line, Wade hoisted a 27-foot jumper, but it didn't go in. The final horn eventually blew, and the Lakers carried the day, 108-105. After the game, the two friends embraced and vowed to get together soon:

“That's just us,” James told ESPN. “Some people say you shouldn't be friends with your competitors. But even with our friendship, we competed against each other and we pushed each other.”

James racked up 28 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in the win. Wade posted 15 points, 10 assists and five rebounds. Kuzma scored 33 points for the Lakers, who have won 13 of 17 overall and five straight at home.

Wade, now 36 years of age, has stated that this will be his last season in the NBA. Knowing this, fans inside Staples Center gave the former Marquette Golden Eagle several standing ovations throughout the night. There was also a tribute video that played during the first quarter in Wade's honor:

“This was the last time I was going to be able to guard him, so I waited to the end,” said Wade, who finished with 10 assists and five rebounds after a scoreless first half. “He knows my moves just like I know his moves. I just wanted to enjoy the competition for the last time.”

James and Wade decided to exchange jerseys after the game:

The Lakers will be back in action on Thursday night, when they'll travel to Houston for a matchup against the Rockets. Tip-off inside the Toyota Center is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
