LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has forged his way into an exclusive scoring club, right beside legends Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

James scored 51 points in their win over the Miami Heat. This scoring outburst makes him just the third player in league history to notch multiple 40-point games in his 16th season or later. To make things more interesting, all three players did it donning the purple and gold jersey.

LeBron James shot 19-of-31 from the field. Along with his season-high 51 points, the four-time MVP also had eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.

In his 16th year in the league, James has proven once again that he's still the best player in the world. His outburst comes in just a few games after climbing to the fifth post in the all-time scoring list, surpassing the great Wilt Chamberlain. And according to analysts, if he plays at this level in his four-year stint with the Lakers, then he would likely be crowned the NBA's all-time leader in points down the line.

It's amazing to think that James was as a pass-first type of player when he entered the league in 2003. Scouts and analysts questioned his lack of a jump shot early on. Yet as his career progressed, James added a reliable perimeter game and 3-point shooting to his arsenal.

And now, his powers are seemingly at an all-time high. He'll be turning 34 years old this December — an age where most athletes suffer a considerable decline in their abilities. Then again, LeBron James is a once-in-a-generation athlete. There isn't a single sign that he's about to exit his prime.
