LeBron James still possesses the capability to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a win in any given game despite how much the team may be struggling. They entered Monday night’s game in Cleveland having won just three of their past ten contests and were undoubtedly trending in the wrong direction. But LeBron was motivated and ended up not just leading the Lakers to a 131-120 road upset, but also made some history in the process.

James became just the sixth player in NBA history to record his third career triple-double against his former team. Monday’s effort also represented the first time that LeBron scored 30 points in a triple-double against Cleveland.

His final stat line for the night included 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists. Additionally, he shot a highly efficient 17-29 from the field.

Perhaps the standout moment of the game came when LeBron James posterized his friend and former teammate Kevin Love. The play firmly shifted momentum in LA’s favor and the Lakers never looked back.

Lebron overcame a scary incident as well. James was kicked in the face by Evan Mobley as Mobley attempted to go up for the ball. LeBron fell to the floor in obvious pain, but ended up being alright.

Between the posterization and face-kicking incident, this was a game that did not lack in drama and excitement. And James finished it off with his memorable triple-double right after becoming the NBA’s second all-time leading scorer over the weekend. It has certainly been a historic couple of days for LeBron James.
