New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball says “work ethic” is the biggest thing he learned from playing with LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

James was Ball's favorite player growing up, so it was a dream come true for Lonzo to play with The King on the Lakers, even if it was only for one season.

“It was dope. I mean he was my favorite player growing up so it was a little different for me,” Ball said on Big Boy TV. “Just his work ethic. I mean, year 16, the way he was taking care of his body was crazy. I see why he's in the league for so long and still playing at a high level.”

The Lakers traded Lonzo Ball to the Pelicans this summer in the blockbuster Anthony Davis trade. Ball and LeBron James are still on good terms, though.

If James didn't miss 17 consecutive games last season because of a groin injury, the Lakers probably make the playoffs. Los Angeles wasn't able to stay afloat in the Western Conference after James went down. Ball also hurt his ankle in January and missed the rest of the season.

Lonzo ended his Lakers career with averages of 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 99 games. He will now run the backcourt with Jrue Holiday in New Orleans.
