The biggest criticism of Lonzo Ball's game during his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers was definitely his inconsistent shooting. So, the 2017 second overall pick spent the summer revamping his funky form.

The Lakers' Twitter account posted a montage of Ball working out and there is a noticeable difference in his shooting form. It's not a complete change from his old form but things are noticeably tweaked. Ball still releases from the left side of his face but it's not nearly as exaggerated as it was last season. The entire motion is straigher and more fluid than his old herky-jerky ways.

A complete reconfiguration of the shot is unnecessary. If anything, that might set him back even further. By tweaking the shot and making small changes, Ball can remain comfortable with his shot while also improving his overall form. Slow and steady is a better method than a drastic overhaul.

Ball shot only shot 38 percent from the floor and 30 percent from three last season. These numbers will have to improve as he matures but he does so much more than shoot. His basketball IQ and natural instincts are eye-opening. He sees the floor so well and defends the perimeter well. He's an exceptional rebounder for a guard and he's not afraid to go toe-to-toe with the big guys inside.

Shooting is one of the few parts of his game that needs significant development. It won't happen all at once and it looks like he's made subtle changes ahead of next season. No player ever looks bad in a workout video. Now it's time for Ball to prove that his adjustments will transfer to the real thing.
