After 14 games, the Los Angeles Lakers have an NBA-best 12 wins. They are looking like a legitimate title contender in the Western Conference with superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the way for the purple and gold.

Even though there's a lot of basketball left to be played and anything can happen from here on out, the vibe around this Lakers team is that another title may be on the horizon. LeBron seems rejuvenated after having a lost season due to a groin injury last year while Davis appears to be as motivated as ever, finally playing alongside another superstar that can take his game to the next level while competing for a title.

With the Lakers sitting atop of the standings in the NBA, Metta World Peace took some time out of his day to talk to ClutchPoints about his former team and where he sees Los Angeles going this season with their new dynamic duo.

“Obviously, LeBron is a superstar,” World Peace said. “I think Anthony Davis helps him a lot. I think this team is great. This team has got a chance to win maybe 70 games.

“This team is a championship team. They're going to win it. I said it early; they're going to win the title. Definitely!”

The Lakers will have their work cut out for them to this season to win the franchise's first title in 10 years. LeBron and company may have cruised through the first month of the 2019-20 campaign, but it will be a question of health for this championship-caliber squad.

James and Davis will have to stay healthy throughout this season to keep this team afloat as one of the best in the league. So far, they've been able to do that with Davis having a few issues, but it has been manageable and nowhere near enough to derail this team's progress.

As for World Peace, he remains a dedicated fan of his former team, which he helped lead to a title back in 2010.

“I love the Lakers, and it's really cool to see the Lakers play,” World Peace said of his former team. “I'm a huge Laker fan.”
