The Los Angeles Lakers might be without their floor general Rajon Rondo on Saturday when they visit the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.

Aside from superstar Anthony Davis who is still recovering from a bad back he suffered against the New York Knicks, Rondo's status also remains questionable due to a fractured right ring finger.

The 33-year-old, four-time All-Star also missed the Lakers' last game against the Orlando Magic on Thursday when the team suffered a 118-119 defeat at Staples Center.

However, in a report by ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel shared his optimism about Rondo's injury.

“He looked good. It's just a matter of how the finger is going to heal and how it feels tomorrow after, for the first time, getting some work on it. But he was a full participant and looked good and we listed him as questionable for tomorrow,” Vogel said.

Prior to his injury setback, Rondo was playing his best basketball for the Lakers and even steered the team to victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder last Sunday sans LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He is averaging 7.6 points on 40.6 percent field goal shooting and 35.2 percent from three, to go along with 3.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 27 games this season.

Rajon Rondo, who is used to being the primary facilitator for every team he has played for, also seems to have a better grasp of his role with the Purple and Gold this year. The lakers veteran guard has learned to remain effective at times when James dictates the offense.
