It was previously reported that LA county had demanded that Vanessa Bryant submit the results of a psychiatric test as part of her lawsuit against the county. A judge has now made a ruling on the claim, and it looks like the widow of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant won't be undergoing any tests anytime soon.

As reported by Sam Yip of FanNation, a judge has ruled against the county's request for a psychiatric exam:

The US Magistrate Judge Charles Eick rejected the county’s request for an independent psychiatric exam for Bryant. Eick deemed the request for evaluation as ‘untimely’. The decision was ruled ‘without prejudice’, which means county attorneys could request Bryant to take a psychiatric exam at a later time.

“The motion is untimely unless and until the District Judge modifies the ‘Amended Scheduling and Case Management Order’ in these related cases.”

Vanessa Bryant sued LA county and its employees for leaking Kobe's crash site photos to the public. Bryant claims that this brought her emotional distress and has decided to take the county to court for the same.

The county then fired back saying that Vanessa's distress stems from the actual incident and not from the leaked photos. To prove their claim, they requested a psychiatric exam from Bryant's camp.

With the judge rejecting the county's claim, the lawsuit may now proceed. Needless to say, this is going to be a long and arduous journey ahead for Vanessa and her camp.
