LA County is turning the tables on Vanessa Bryant in what has become a truly controversial lawsuit over leaked photos of Kobe Bryant's helicopter crash site. The wife of the late, great Los Angeles Lakers legend is now being asked to undergo a psychiatric exam to prove her claim in the lawsuit.

In a report published by USA TODAY, it was revealed that Los Angeles County is demanding that Bryant's camp submit results of psychiatric tests to support her claim that the crash site photos were indeed the real cause of her emotional distress. The county is arguing that it was the accident itself — and not the photos — that was the reason behind her anguish and they believe that the results of the said psychological tests will prove their claim.

Several photos from the crash site of the Lakers icon were taken and shared by employees of LA County. Vanessa Bryant did not like this at all and immediately filed a lawsuit against them for allegedly causing her emotional distress. According to reports, Bryant is suing the county for “tens of millions of dollars.”

Vanessa's camp has already issued a statement in response to LA County's recent move. It is abundantly clear that the widow of the Lakers legend is abhorred by this demand:

“Unable to defend the indefensible conduct of its employees who took and shared horrific photographs of Plaintiffs’ deceased loved ones. … the County has resorted to scorched-earth discovery tactics designed to bully Plaintiffs into abandoning their pursuit of accountability,” Vanesa’s attorneys stated. “After seeking intrusive discovery into everything from Plaintiffs’ privileged therapist records and middle school report cards, the County now seeks to compel the victims of its employees’ misconduct … to undergo involuntary psychiatric examinations.”

It's not at all surprising that LA County has taken such drastic measures here. After all, this is a lot of money we're talking about here — not to mention the fact that their reputation is at stake. The saddest part about this, however, is that it continues to shed a bad light on the tragic death of Lakers great Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and the other victims of the crash.
