Los Angeles Lakers reserve guard Alex Caruso continues to make a strong case to be included in the Slam Dunk Contest this year.

The 25-year-old Texas A&M product once again displayed his incredible hops on Tuesday night, coming out of nowhere for a putback slam in the Lakers' road game versus the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

Caruso, who was camping outside the 3-point line, ran straight to the basket after teammate Danny Green launched a 3-pointer. He timed the miss perfectly as he rose above two Nuggets player in the paint and slammed the ball right back with an emphatic jam, extending the Lakers' lead  to 40-37.

Caruso is tallying 5.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20 minutes off the bench for the Lakers this season.
