Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee went back to his Shaqtin' A Fool ways during a vital stretch of an overtime affair against the in-house neighbor L.A. Clippers, botching a beautifully-dished lob from LeBron James, only to clank it off the back of the rim.

McGee probably could have gotten away with a simple stuff, but his intent to throw it down emphatically led to a miscue that caused the team a potential four-point lead in overtime. For what it's worth, it also cost James a triple-double.

There was no harm altogether, as the Lakers pulled off a 123-120 win on the road, shaving a full game's difference from the Clippers and now sitting only a game away from a tie for the eighth and last spot in the West.

The Lakers, powered by James' return from injury after missing 17 straight games, also got some solid effort from McGee, who contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and two blocks during his 17 minutes on the floor.

McGee entered the season as the starter and found success as one, but coach Luke Walton has opted for a three-headed committee recently, sharing minutes with Ivica Zubac, the new starter, and Tyson Chandler, whom they acquired as a buyout candidate.
