Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James appeared to be dead serious when he said before that he was considering bringing back his trademark chalk toss this coming season. True enough, the three-time NBA champ was already at it during a preseason contest.

James brought back the chalk toss in China as his Lakers faced off against the Brooklyn Nets in an exhibition match.

Here's another look at LeBron's famous pre-game ritual from a bit of a first-person perspective.

We sure missed this move, and we're hoping it makes a permanent comeback this season.

The chalk toss, however, did not prove to be LeBron's luck charm in this one, as the Lakers suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the Nets, 91-77.

James played only 12 minutes on the evening, logging only six points, three rebounds, four assists, and a steal in his limited run. Anthony Davis likewise had a brief cameo, accounting for just six points, three rebounds, a steal, and two blocks in 12 minutes of play.

On the other end of the floor, it was fourth-year wingman Caris LeVert who led the way for the Nets, scoring 22 points (on a very efficient 8-of-11 from the floor), three three-pointers, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 23 minutes of play.

LeBron's former teammate, Kyrie Irving, was a notable absence in the contest as the former Rookie of the Year winner sat out the game as he continues to recover from a facial contusion which he suffered during training camp.
