Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James helped sponsor Saturday night's event commemorating graduating high schoolers across the country. James hosted “Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020,” lauding students for their commitment.

Via NBA.com:

“You should've had a real graduation, I know. You should've had an incredible senior year, I know that as well. But you made a sacrifice, and you did it to keep your community safe and healthy,” James said.

LeBron had a similar message of encouragement for students at his I Promise School in Akron, Ohio.

The Lakers star took to Twitter on Sunday with his special words:

James opened the I Promise School in 2018, and students have already made tremendous progress.

The New York Times reported third- and fourth-grade students have excelled in testing, which bodes well for the future in terms of opportunity and effectiveness of public schooling.

Of course, it also helps to have a financial backer as supportive as James, who has consistently used his influence to help children and communities in need. The Lakers star will continue to use his enormous platform for good.
