Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has joined a popular new charity fundraising that aims to provide fans with the sports dreams of their lives along with raising money for food banks.

Per Tom Huddleston Jr. in CNBC:

Participants have the option of buying tickets to enter drawings to win certain prizes or competing in auctions to buy other experiences.

For example, $10 will buy you 10 entries into a contest to win a one-day contract with Mark Cuban’s Mavericks that will allow the winner to suit up and sit on Dallas’ bench during an actual NBA game, be a part of the team’s layup line at game time, and even shoot a free throw during the game. (Entrants can pay more for more entries, with $100 getting you 200 entries, though there is a limit of 1,000 entries per person.)

Cuban, who has owned the Mavs franchise since 2000, is now offering a chance to be a “member” of the team on a one-day contract. He is raffling off tickets for those donating to help those in need amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Due to the current public health crisis facing the United States and many other places, working families have been facing food shortage as state governments issue stay-at-home orders. The Mavs owner is simply doing his part to at lease lessen the worries of those massively affected.

Meanwhile, it is also the perfect opportunity for Mavs fans to meet and join the Mavs while helping the community.
