Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry has made a name for himself in the NBA, but it is still tough being the younger brother of one of the greatest shooters in NBA history

In fact, Seth told Austin Rivers that he would rather compete against Stephen Curry rather than join forces with him on the Golden State Warriors (via Paul Kasabian of Bleacher Report).

“Honestly, I've thought about it. Earlier in my career, I had some opportunities to play on the Warriors and go there and obviously take a much lesser role…having the team stacked the way they have in the last few years,” the Mavs sharpshooter told Rivers on his Uninterrupted show “Go Off.”

“I've always turned them down because I never really wanted to play on his team. I'd rather compete against him. I'm going to be compared to him and somewhat in his shadow whether I'm on his team or not, so it's going to multiply if I were on the same team, so I like to create my own path and do my own thing.”

While Seth might not want to team up with Steph anytime soon, the two have had the opportunity to square off in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Seth, big brother and the Warriors swept the Portland Trail Blazers in last year's Western Conference Finals.

Steph certainly deserves all the fame and accolades he got, but Seth should also garner more attention.

The former Duke product has been a prolific marksman for the Mavs this year, shooting over 45 percent from beyond the arc on 5.1 attempts per game.

In fact, Seth Curry currently ranks second behind Warriors head coach Steve Kerr in terms of 3-point field goal percentage, per Basketball Reference.

Both Curry boys are tremendous shooters, but Seth is not intent on the “Splash Brothers” nickname taking on a new meaning. Instead, the Mavs guard will hope for another shot at beating Steph and Co. in the playoffs.
