The Dallas Mavericks reportedly don't have Julius Randle high on their free agent wish list, according to Mike Fisher of 247 Sports. The Mavs were interested in signing Randle last season before the lefty joined the New Orleans Pelicans on a two-year deal.

Randle declined his 2019-20 player option with the Pelicans. He'll become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

But no, Dallas does not have him high on its wish list. I'm told most people at Mavs HQ are not fully sold that he's a vastly different player than he was a year ago when Dallas had an opportunity to pursue the 6-foot-9 power forward last season, but watched him end up in New Orleans for a seeming bargain price of just $8.6 million.

Randle averaged 21.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this past season with the Pelicans. He shot 52.4 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc and 73.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The Mavs need more shooters around Luke Doncic. Randle, while he showed this season he can hit the occasional three, does most of his damage at the rim.

Nevertheless, Randle is going to be pursued by a bevy of teams this summer. It just doesn't look like the Mavs will be one of them.
