The very successful prequel to the NBA 2K franchise, The Prelude, is bound to drop for a second straight year after fans enjoyed all the immersive pre-draft experience, becoming available in Xbox and PlayStation platforms on Sept. 8, a week prior to NBA 2K18's release, according to Forbes.

While no details about this year's iteration have been given, if it's anything like NBA 2K17's version, it will include a face-scan mechanism and a full-fledged customization of MyPlayer prior to taking on some of the best schools en route to the NBA Draft.

The Prelude will be free, just like last year's version, and it should get a few basketball aficionados ahead of the game, allowing them to skip that portion of the game when deciding to play the MyPlayer mode when the game releases.
