The Golden State Warriors have been reportedly harboring feelings of angst toward star Kevin Durant in light of his slower-than-expected return to the court after suffering what was initially deemed a “mild” calf strain.

According to FS1 panelist Chris Broussard, this was largely due to rumblings that Durant has been talking to other players about playing in New York:

“The article, as you said, implied that players and people in the organization are wondering that very thing: is he working hard enough to get back? What I do know is this: these are the roots of that doubt. No. 1 … I've heard from players in the league that Kevin Durant has talked to players about playing in New York next year with him.

“Now whether or not that's hardcore recruiting … or whether or not it's lighthearted … whatever it is. That has been said to me by a few players.”

For what it's worth, Durant has already had a tiff with Broussard and his information last month, telling him and his social media followers that he didn't have his phone number.

Broussard barked back, claiming to have over 80 Instagram conversations with Durant, yet unwilling to show the receipts due to privacy.

The original article expressed there was some level of frustration within the organization, but never went past that level. It's tough to fathom Broussard being right with this claim, given how involved Durant has been with the team throughout this journey.

As it is, Kevin Durant is listed as a game-time decision but is expected to return to the lineup for a do-or-die Game 5.
