Isaiah Thomas has bounced around the NBA in recent years, but he is ruling out the notion of playing professionally overseas.

Thomas took to Twitter to respond to a fan question, dismissing any idea he would play in another league and iterating he is confident he will sign with an NBA roster in the near future.

The 31-year-old was indeed a consistent starter with the Washington Wizards, though he did not make 40 starts.

Isaiah Thomas started in 37 of 40 appearances, averaging 12.2 points and 3.7 assists in just over 23 minutes per game while also shooting over 41 percent from beyond the arc on 4.7 attempts per game.

Despite his contributions, however, Thomas was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team deal that brought Marcus Morris to L.A. The Clippers subsequently waived Thomas, who currently remains unemployed with the NBA season suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thomas was one of the most beloved stars in the NBA, the little guy who put up huge scoring numbers and seemingly carried a city on his back during his run with the Boston Celtics. However, the Beantown team traded Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Kyrie Irving, and he has had a hard time getting consistent playing time (and staying healthy) ever since.

Unfortunately, Thomas will not know the fate of his season for quite some time. The NBA imposed a moratorium period on all teams during the current league-wide suspension, forbidding any signings or moves until the suspension is lifted.

Still, Thomas only has eyes for the NBA. He will hope to make his way back onto a roster in short order.
