LeBron James' two missed free throws down the stretch against the San Antonio Spurs had Los Angeles Lakers fans clamoring for Kobe Bryant. He wouldn't have missed those free throws, they said. Kobe would have hit the game-winner, they said. LeBron will never be able to accomplish what Kobe did in Los Angeles, they said.

The most delusional takes are flowing from Lakers fans, and it even has some wondering whether or not Kobe will come out of retirement to save the day.

Kobe appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and jokingly stated that he would think about making a return to the Lakers if they start out with five straight losses.

Obviously, Kobe is joking about making a return. He has no plans to make a return. He has even said in the past he doesn't want to retire because so many people predicted he wouldn't know what to do with himself after his basketball career ended.

Instead of contemplating a return, Kobe has already won an Emmy and an Oscar for some of his work during his life after basketball. His Emmy and Grammy for his animated short, “Dear Basketball,” shows Kobe can find success without even picking up a basketball.

The Lakers star probably wouldn't help the current Lakers too much. While Kobe is certainly among the greatest basketball players to ever walk the planet, age caught up to him as it does with everyone.

The Lakers will be fine this year once they get their feet underneath themselves, and bringing back Kobe wouldn't solve any of their problems.
