While the Toronto Raptors have also had a good year and are coming off three straight wins. This should be a competitive match-up between two of the better teams in the league.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread

The Minnesota Timberwolves have managed to be competitive all season long. While they may have never topped the league in rankings, they have consistently put in solid performances. Through 76 games they have a winning record of 43-33. Minnesota has been struggling recently and is coming off a 22-point loss to the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are a tough opponent, but the Wolves will look to turn things around on Wednesday. The Raptors are another solid team and Minnesota will need to up their game if they want to come out ahead. Expect the Wolves to come into this match-up hungry for a win.

The main problem with Minnesota is how heavily they rely on their best players. KAT, Anthony Edwards, and DLo are all great basketball players, but they have not managed to carry this team in its toughest matchups. That was evident in their loss to Boston. While Ant and KAT put up respectable performances, it was not enough to get their team the win. If Minnesota wants to go far in the playoffs they will need other players to step up. 13 different players stepped on the court for the Wolves in that match-up, yet none provided support.

At least, for the most part, this Timberwolves team is healthy. Currently, the Wolves only have two players listed on their injury report. This team is more than healthy enough to be competitive and they could walk away with a win on Wednesday. If Minnesota wants to start winning their tougher games then they need to start playing like a team. Expect Minnesota to come into this matchup ready to turn things around and bounce back from a tough loss against Boston.

Why The Raptors Could Cover The Spread

The Toronto Raptors have been a competitive team this year. Like every team, they have had to overcome injuries and adversity, yet through it all, they have come out pretty well. Through 75 games they have a winning record of 43-32. Toronto has been gaining momentum lately and is fresh off a three-point overtime victory against the Celtics. While Boston may have been without Tatum and Brown, a win is still a win. The Raptors will look to build on their recent success with another win on Wednesday. Minnesota has looked vulnerable lately, and if the Raptors are able to keep playing consistently well then they should end up on top.

This Raptors team has heart, and it all starts at the top with Pascal Siakam. Spicy P dropped 40 in their win over Boston. Siakam has quickly become the best player in Toronto and showed why in their win against Boston. But he didn't do it alone. Five other players contributed double-digit points in that game. This Raptors roster may be condensed, but it's strong. Everyone in Toronto contributes and when they start gaining momentum they are tough to keep up with. The Raptors will look to demonstrate this on Wednesday against the Wolves. Toronto should be able to pull this one off, provided they come in ready for battle.

One of the biggest things going Toronto's way is their lack of injuries. Currently, the Raptors only have two players listed on their injury report. Of those injured players, Khem Birch is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game. The Raptors are healthy, they have been winning games, and they are looking towards the playoffs. Toronto is ready to win some games and run with it, expect the Raptors to come into this match up strong.

Final Timberwolves-Raptors Prediction & Pick

The Timberwolves have the talent to come into any game and win. Minnesota's team is really good, but they are also really inconsistent. Toronto, on the other hand, has been a team that has been sneakily good. The Raptors have been competitors this season and should end up ahead in this match. Banking on Minnesota's stars to overperform is a losing move. Pick the Raptors to win and cover.
