With the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly looking to be active in the last remaining days before the trade deadline, two names been linked with the team are Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Clippers have kicked the tires on Kevin Love and could grab disgruntled Kings center Dewayne Dedmon, but neither are preferred options. There is some interest in Tristan Thompson in LA’s front office, per sources, as LA’s coaching staff has fretted about the team’s rebounding, particularly when Ivica Zubac is off the floor.

Sacramento Kings center Dewayne Dedmon is also mentioned as an option, but Love and Thompson are the notable names.

The Clippers are understandably looking to fortify their frontcourt as they look to make a formidable challenge for this season's title. Fourth-year starting center Ivica Zubac (8.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 17.8 minutes per contest) has been solid and Montrezl Harrell is a Sixth Man of the Year contender, but LA is still looking to make an upgrade as Harrell is lacking in the size department. The Clippers could also be looking to trade Harrell given he's about to be a free agent and is going to get paid.

This is where a guy like Love or Thompson could come in to fill the void for LA. Both are outstanding rebounders, with the former also possessing a more established offensive skill set. The Cavs look like they will be sellers as we approach the deadline, so perhaps the Clippers can pry either of these players from Cleveland at the right price.

Even if LA isn't able to make a big move, the roster is still stacked. The Clippers are 35-15 on the season after a win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. That's good for second in the Western Conference.
