Brooklyn Nets superstar point guard Kyrie Irving and new head coach Steve Nash are already forging a strong bond with one another.

According to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic, Nash was in New Jersey recently to watch Irving work out. To recall, the Nets new coach called Irving one of his all-time favorite players during his introductory press conference on Wednesday.

Steve Nash is a two-time MVP, Hall of Famer and one of the best point guards in NBA history. Kyrie Irving is one of the top players in the NBA today, so it's going to be a lot of fun watching Uncle Drew play under Nash.

Irving appeared in only 20 games for the Nets in 2019-20. A nagging shoulder injury forced the one-time NBA champion to undergo surgery, so he wasn't able to play in the 2020 postseason down in Orlando, Florida at Walt Disney World, where Brooklyn got swept by the Toronto Raptors in the first round.

A six-time All-Star and one of the best dribblers of all time, Irving averaged 27.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game for the Nets in 2019-20. He was also efficient, too, as Irving shot 47.8 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from beyond the arc and 92.2 percent from the free throw line.

With Irving and two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant leading the way in 2020-21, the Nets should compete for a championship.
