Newly-acquired Ben Simmons has yet to play for the Brooklyn Nets as he continues to deal with back soreness. While there is no clear timetable for when he could make his debut with the team, it was a positive sign to see Simmons getting in some extra work after practice on Saturday with the Nets.

If there's one thing the Aussie needs to work on, it's his jump shot. It looks like the Nets coaches are really trying to help Simmons get better in that category. However, given how Brooklyn's roster is built, he shouldn't have to shoot it a lot because of the players around him who can make it rain.

Simmons of course hasn't played all season long due to his mental health and finally got the trade he long wanted away from the Philadelphia 76ers. The fact that he's on the court putting in work means the 25-year-old can't be too far away from actually playing. Hopefully, his Nets debut comes before the postseason because Brooklyn desperately needs a spark. Despite Kevin Durant returning the other night, Steve Nash's squad is still 3-7 in their last 10 games and has lost three in a row. Adding Simmons into the mix sooner rather than later will make a big difference in regards to securing the best possible berth for the play-in tournament.
