The Brooklyn Nets' rebuilding phase is over. Once Kevin Durant is healthy, they will be ready to contend for the title for years to come thanks to this summer's acquisitions of Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson understands the pressure in front of him. Not only is he expected to lead the Nets to new heights in order to keep KD and Kyrie happy, but he also needs to make sure the team continues to embrace the culture established over the last few years.

In his interview with ESPN's Jackie McMullan, Atkinson admits it won't be easy pleasing their two superstars while maintaining the team culture, but he's up for the challenge:

“So, now our job is, ‘How do we keep [Durant and Irving] here without compromising our culture?' It's a great challenge for us to figure out. Who wouldn't want this opportunity?”

The Nets have returned to prominence thanks to a culture that emphasizes teamwork, relationships and a dedication to Atkinson's system. There was a nice blend of young players and savvy veterans to help make it all work this past season, which resulted in a surprise playoff berth. Bringing in superstars like Durant and Irving changes the calculus a bit, but if they fully buy in, it could come together nicely.

Atkinson understands what it takes to keep the team's top players happy, and he will try to keep them satisfied without stunting the overall growth of the team.
