NBA legend Isiah Thomas recently claimed that the Brooklyn Nets “will not win the championship” without Kyrie Irving. Kevin Durant, for his part, couldn't agree more.

On social media, Durant made sure to let everyone know how he feels after Thomas and former Nets guards Kenny Anderson and Sherman Douglas showed their support to Irving. Thomas, in particular, had nothing but praises for Kyrie and his impact to the game that people often overlook. In response, KD simply said “Factory” and “Fact.”

Nets, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant

For what it's worth, it's true that Kyrie Irving is a crucial part of the Nets. In fact, his injury in the second round of the 2021 playoffs was a massive blow to the team and they eventually faltered in his absence.

While Kevin Durant has proven his ability to take over games and win for the Nets, there is no doubt he needs Irving and his backcourt partner James Harden to win and compete against the other powerhouse teams in the NBA filled with All-Star talent.

Not to mention that Irving's championship experience and ability to perform in clutch situations should be beneficial for Brooklyn in their quest for their first Larry O'Brien trophy.

The Nets will certainly hope that Irving and the rest of their Big 3 will be able to stay healthy and play more together in 2021-22. If they are able to do so, then there's no doubt they can dominate in the playoffs and easily make their way to the NBA Finals.
