Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is planning to return to the lineup from an injury against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Durant has missed the last three games with a left leg contusion.

Durant recently missed nearly two months with a hamstring injury. In his fifth game back, he suffered this leg injury after playing just four minutes against the Miami Heat. The Nets star will be on a minutes restriction in his return.

The Nets have been dealing with injuries to their stars all season. James Harden is currently on the shelf with a hamstring issue, and it's unclear just when he'll be back in the fold. Durant, Harden and Kyrie Irving have played just seven games together this season.

Despite the injury woes, Brooklyn has managed to rack up an impressive 40-20 record, which is tops in the Eastern Conference now that the Philadelphia 76ers are on a four-game losing streak. The Nets haven't had much time to build chemistry, but that might not even matter come playoff time thanks to their ridiculous amount of talent.

When he's actually on the court, Kevin Durant’s stats are exceptionally impressive. The Nets star is averaging 27.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists while shooting 54.3% from the field and 46.2% on 3-pointers this season.

Brooklyn's Sunday matinee against the Suns is a potential NBA Finals preview. Phoenix is 42-17 on the season and right on the heels of the league-best Utah Jazz (44-16), though the Los Angeles Clippers are right behind them with a 43-19 record thanks to their hot stretch.
