Like many other basketball fans, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant saw the 3-point shot that Thomas Lee hit in the closing minutes of Jackson State's recent win over UAPB.

ā€œSnacks,ā€ as Lee is affectionately known among his peers and teammates, is actually the student manager for Jackson State. He had never checked in to a game before, but with the matchup well in-hand, he suited up for the last two minutes.

Lee put up three shots from downtown, missing each one. However, what came next was completely unexpectedā€¦

As part of a transition play, Lee received an outlet pass from his teammate, then proceeded to knock down a shot from Stephen Curry range ā€” well beyond the arc.

The Nets superstar, who is currently rehabbing from an Achilles injury, sent out a personalized message to Lee after seeing his fantastic shot, which has since went viral:

According to most accounts, the Nets forward is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of this season. Despite this fact, there have been reports indicating that the two-time champion might be interested in playing for Team USA in the 2020 Olympics. Nothing has been confirmed at this point, but it seems he's keeping the option open.

ā€œ(Tokyo is) definitely a possibility,ā€ Rich Kleiman, Durantā€™s friend, manager and business partner, told the Washington Post. ā€œHe allowed his name to be in the group of finalists.

ā€œBut there are other benchmarks in front of him that are more important before he makes those decisions.ā€

The Nets have struggled to find a rhythm this season, as their 26-33 overall record can attest. Injuryies have played a role, as both Durant and Kyrie Irving have missed time. If the playoffs started today, Brooklyn would be a No. 8 seed.

For now, though, Durant will look to continue his rehabilitation process.
