Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has proven to be a clutch performer on the court this season. However, that clutch gene did not seem to translate into the NBA 2K realm.

His virtual alter ego failed to give Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell the W in his NBA 2K Player's Only Tournament match against Rui Hachimura of the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

Mitchell's Nets team was trailing by three points against Hachimura's Los Angeles Lakers when he leaned on Dinwiddie to send the game to overtime. Check out the pair's reaction as Dinwiddie bricked the 3-pointer.

News traveled fast to the real Spencer Dinwiddie, and he claimed that 2K is not realistic since he won't miss that shot in an actual NBA game.

Dinwiddie does have a point since he drilled a go-ahead bucket against the Lakers in their last match-up just days before the NBA suspended its season due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Nets escaped with a close 104-102 road victory over the Purple and Gold last March 11, in a thrilling game where Dinwiddie fired off 24 points, four rebounds, and seven dimes.

Donovan Mitchell, on the other hand, will likely get some flak for his bold proclamation prior to his 2K match with the Wizards rookie. The one-time All-Star said the other 15 participants should watch out since they have no idea how good he is on the popular basketball video game.

Rui Hachimura (13), meanwhile, continues the trend of lower-seed players coming out victorious in the virtual tournament. He joins Derrick Jones Jr (16)., DeAndre Ayton (10), and Patrick Beverley (14), who all advanced to the next round.
