Stop me if you've heard this before: Josh Gordon is looking to get back on an NFL field.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the veteran wide receiver has formally filed paperwork for his latest comeback attempt.

“Josh Gordon officially has submitted his reinstatement letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and hopes to be with a team for training camp, per a league source. The NFL has been randomly drug testing Gordon for the past three months and is said to have passed all tests,” Schefter reported on Friday.

Gordon led the league in receiving in 2013 for the Cleveland Browns, then missed the 2015 and 2016 seasons due to violations of the league's substance-abuse policy. Since 2017, he's appeared in 33 regular-season games for the Browns, New England Patriots, and Seattle Seahawks.

In 2018, he voluntarily left the Patriots mid-season before being hit with a suspension. In 2019, he posted 20 receptions and a touchdown in six games for New England before spending the final five games with Seattle. He caught seven passes from QB Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks expected Gordon back with them for 2020 after he was conditionally reinstated by the NFL. But the league rescinded the reinstatement after another breach of protocol, and he was suspended indefinitely that January — the fifth suspension in Gordon's career.

The Seahawks released the 30-year old on March 4 in time for him to sign up for the Fan Controlled Football league. Playing alongside former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, Gordon scored two touchdowns in his FCF debut, catching a game-winning Hail Mary.

As always, best of luck to Josh Gordon.
