Mark Ingram has suddenly become one of the most sought after free agent running backs on the market. Just a day after it became apparent he wouldn't be returning to the New Orleans Saints, the veteran rusher is being courted by the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine.

Both Ingram and the Saints expressed a desire to work out a deal after the 2018 season that would allow the 2011 first-round pick to continue his career where it began. Negotiations between the sides reportedly broke down leading up to the league's legal tampering period, though, prompting New Orleans to reach a deal with former Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray on Monday.

Previous reporting indicated that Ingram's most likely landing spot is Baltimore. John Harbaugh's club needs all the backfield help it can get while fully committing to the running game under franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson, and released Alex Collins earlier this month after the arrest of the team's third-leading rusher. There have been conflicting reports, meanwhile, on the Ravens' interest in superstar running back Le'Veon Bell.

The Packers and Lions could both use a runner of Ingram's caliber and experience, too. The 29-year-old was a fixture of the Saints' offensive attack since his rookie season, though his numbers took a bit of late after the team added star playmaker Alvin Kamara in the 2017 draft. Last season, Ingram rushed for 645 yards and six touchdowns on 138 carries, good for 4.7 yards per rush. He made the Pro Bowl in both 2017 and 2014.
