The Denver Nuggets have ruled out point guard Jamal Murray and power forward Paul Millsap for Sunday's game against the Indiana Pacers.

Murray will miss multiple games due to a sprained left ankle, while Millsap is still dealing with a left knee contusion:

The Nuggets are 29-12 on the season. They are in second place in the Western Conference standings.

Murray has appeared in 40 games this season for the Nuggets. He's averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 43.5 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from beyond the arc and 91.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Nuggets are 28-12 when Murray plays.

Millsap has played in 32 games this season. The four-time All-Star is putting up 11.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists and shooting 46.8 percent overall, 41.3 percent from the 3-point line and 88.5 percent from the charity stripe.

When Millsap plays, the Nuggets are 21-11.

Denver will be cautious with Murray and Millsap moving forward since there are still so many games left in the regular season. The Nuggets need both players to be fresh and healthy for the playoffs if they want to make a deep postseason run.

Last season, the Nuggets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round in seven games. With Michael Porter Jr. in the lineup this time around, Denver could reach the Western Conference Finals and possibly give the Los Angeles Lakers a run for their money.
