On Friday night at Pepsi Center, the Denver Nuggets honored three of their former standout players during “2000s Night” as part of the franchise’s season-long 50th-anniversary celebration. Hall of Fame guard Allen Iverson, center Marcus Camby and forward Kenyon Martin were all present during the Nuggets' thrilling 122-119 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

According to an article written on Saturday by Gina Mizell of The Denver Post, despite all the great memories that came to mind with the Nuggets for a player like Martin, the forward admits that he would not be able to play in today's NBA due to the lack of physicality.

“I couldn’t play in this, because I’m not going to adjust. I can’t adjust. I don’t know no other way to play. If you’re coming down the middle, I’m not moving out of your way. That’s not gonna happen. I’m not conceding two points. It’s personal,” Martin said.

Martin guesses that his bank account would continue to take blow after blow if he played in today's NBA, which is fair to say if one watches the forward's playing style throughout his lengthy career.

“I got fined and suspended a lot when I was playing and (with) the way the rules were then. Imagine how much money I would give back now. Just think about it. Everything is a Flagrant One,” Martin said.

In his seven seasons with the Nuggets from 2004-11, Martin averaged 12.3 points on 49.6 percent shooting, 7.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocked shots per game in roughly 30.6 minutes of action per contest.
