The matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat wasn't enough for 48 minutes as the game needed an extra session to decide on the victor.

Down by two, Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray worked his way to the paint for a scoop shot that failed to connect. Fortunately for Denver, big man Nikola Jokic hustles for a tip-in that would send the game to overtime.

The game has turned out to be quite the thriller in Miami. The first extra session wasn't enough still as Heat forward James Johnson failed to convert on a drive to the basket, sending the game to double-overtime.

Both teams are in desperate need of a win, being stuck in the middle of the playoff race with no seeding guaranteed yet. A colossal slippage could send either of these two groups reeling out of the postseason race.

The Heat eventually ended up with the win, 149-141. The home team was led by the heroics of Johnson, who notched 31 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in a well-rounded effort that also included a steal and a block. Kelly Olynyk also delivered the surprise blow for the Heat, finishing with 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets were paced by Jokic who finished the game with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists. He received support from the likes of Wilson Chandler, Will Barton, and Jamal Murray who all scored more than 20 markers.
