Indiana Pacers guard Caris LeVert made an appearance at practice on Saturday following his kidney surgery just two weeks ago, per Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.

Although he wasn't actually suiting up and participating, it's a step in the right direction for LeVert and the Pacers.

LeVert was part of the blockbuster trade that saw James Harden go to the Brooklyn Nets, Victor Oladipo to the Houston Rockets, and Jarrett Allen to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Trades are not always a pleasant part of an NBA player's career, however, this trade to the Pacers, in particular, was instrumental in detecting LeVert's kidney problem because of the physical he was required to undergo. Fortunately, LeVert should be able to make a full recovery and isn't required to get any more treatments.

From 2016 to the start of this season, Levert had played for Brooklyn. He has shown remarkable improvement through the years and has been essential in the Nets' ascension from being the league's laughingstock.

Brooklyn has made the playoffs in the last two seasons, although they were eliminated both times in the first round. Last season, he averaged 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per outing. He has dealt with various injuries in the past, dating back to his college days at Michigan.

The Pacers have a solid core in Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, and Malcolm Brogdon. Adding a healthy LeVert to that core should make for an even more competitive team.

There is irony in LeVert's NBA journey so far. In the 2016 draft, he was selected with the 20th overall pick by the Pacers and then traded to Brooklyn. This is quite the full circle.
