The Indiana Pacers were one of the most surprising teams this season. Despite losing star guar Victor Oladipo, they still managed to make the playoffs and showed their potential. Now, they will look to build from their decent performance, as they are eyeing to become strong players in free agency this summer.

Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard said that the team will be “super aggressive” in free agency, knowing that they need to catch up with the powerhouse teams in the East. Pritchard said that they will look for another top-tier free agent to play alongside Oladipo.

Pritchard is aware that Indiana is not among the top preferred destinations of superstar free agents. However, he insisted that that the Pacers front office will think big this summer.

“We'll go after 'em,” Pritchard said during his annual press conference, via Mark Montieth of Pacers.com. “We'll make the pitches. We're not afraid. We're willing to think big.

“I gave my management staff a book here recently, The Magic of Thinking Big. We want to think big. It may happen, it may not happen. One thing we believe very strongly in is that once you sign with us we'll do our best to make you feel comfortable here and we'll do that with our daily actions.”

While they are in a small market, Kevin Pritchard thinks that they can lure free agents by introducing their culture and facilities to them. He added that top free agents will eventually see that they are a player-centric franchise, as their top priority is to take care of their players.

Kevin Pritchard is also confident that money will not be an issue, saying that team owner Herb Simon wants to win. In turn, he strongly believes that Simon will allow them to go even over the tax threshold to build a strong core moving forward through free agency, trades and in the upcoming draft.
