Aaron Holiday received his first career start for the Indiana Pacers against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night and it couldn't have gone better. After getting off to a very rough start this season, Nate McMillan decided to give him a shot at a start with the injury issues the team has been having.

When everything was said and done, Holiday ended up scoring 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting and he connected on three of his five three-point attempts. Holiday also ended up recording two rebounds and an assist.

That performance was noticed by head coach Nate McMillan, who had some big praise to heap on his second-year point guard after the game.

Indiana will need Holiday to use this game as a springboard to bigger things. He was expected to take a big leap this season and many thought he would be a huge part of the Pacers' bench. If he can play like this for the remainder of the season, it is going to give the Pacers exactly what they have been missing.

At 23 years old, Holiday has a ton of room to grow in the future and the Pacers think he has the potential to become something special. They even held onto him in trade talks at the deadline last year and during the offseason.

It will be interesting to see what Holiday does moving forward after this big performance. The Pacers have a lot of talent, but they need to put everything together in order to get their season back on track.
