Sacramento Kings restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic is drawing interest from the Indiana Pacers, per Jason Ham of NBC Sports California.

The Pacers struck out with Gordon Hayward, who signed with the Charlotte Hornets as an unrestricted free agent. Ham noted that the Boston Celtics' trade demands for Hayward became too excessive when Indiana was trying to work out a sign-and-trade deal with Boston involving center Myles Turner.

The Indiana Pacers struck out on a Gordon Hayward trade with the Boston Celtics when a source confirmed that Boston’s trade demands became too excessive. Indy was willing to part with center Myles Turner in the transaction, but when the Celtics asked for more, the Pacers passed.

Would the Pacers, who sources say have shown interest in Bogdanovic, consider a similar swap?

The salaries wouldn’t be difficult to work out. In fact, Turner has three years and $54 million remaining on his contract with the Pacers, with each of those seasons coming in at the $18 million mark, the same amount Bogdanovic is projected to receive.

With the Kings in 2019-20, Bogdan Bogdanovic averaged 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 37.2 percent from beyond the arc and 74.1 percent from the free-throw line.

If Bogdanovic–who is drawing interest from the Atlanta Hawks as well–signs an offer sheet with the Pacers, the Kings could match it and bring him back to Sacramento. The Kings thought they had a sign-and-trade deal with the Milwaukee Bucks wrapped up, but that deal won't happen anymore and it is actually being investigated by the NBA.

It's going to be fascinating to see where Bogdanovic plays next season. The Pacers are certainly hoping they can land the swingman after losing Hayward to the Hornets.
