The Green Bay Packers have officially started the 2019 NFL season off with a 2-0 record under rookie head coach Matt LaFleur after a hard-fought 21-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings this week.

After defeating the Chicago Bears in Week 1, the Packers have now beaten their top two NFC North competitors in the first two games of the season. This is exactly how the Packers needed to start a new era of football. Now, the rest of the NFL has been sent a message from Green Bay, and that message is that they are to be viewed as serious contenders.

Despite a rough second half performance on the offensive side of the ball, the Packers' defense was able to make enough plays to get the job done. Aaron Rodgers and the offense also came through with some clutch plays to salt the game away in the closing minutes.

Following the game, the Packers have to be feeling very good about themselves. Not only do they sit atop the NFC North by themselves, they have silenced the critics that were hounding them all offseason long.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at the three biggest performances for the Packers from their big win over the Vikings.

3. Davante Adams, Wide Receiver

Davante Adams was unable to make much of a difference for the Packers in Week 1, but it was obvious that the team wanted to get him more involved this week. Even though the Vikings have a talented secondary, Adams ended up catching seven passes for 106 yards on the afternoon.

There is no question that Adams is one of the league's elite wide receivers. He proved that last season, which has caused defenses to key in on him this year. Despite the extra attention, Adams was able to come through with a big-time performance to help the Packers get a big win over their rivals.

2. Blake Martinez, Linebacker

Defensively, the Packers have been impressive throughout the first two weeks of the season. Blake Martinez has been a big part of their improved unit and had a huge game against the Vikings.

Throughout the course of the game, Martinez ended up recording 13 total tackles. Of those 13 tackles, 10 of them were solo. Green Bay did allow Dalvin Cook to have a huge game, but Martinez made some big-time tackles and was a true leader for the middle of their defense.

1. Aaron Jones, Running Back

Finally, this list would not be complete without adding running back Aaron Jones to it. Jones had a ton of hype surrounding him all offseason long, with many stating that he would be the NFL's next breakout star at the running back position. In Week 1, he failed to live up to the hype, rushing for just 39 yards on 13 carries.

Jones put that rough game behind him and came through with a big-time performance for the Packers. He ripped off 116 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries against the Vikings for a 5.0 yards per carry average. Without Jones, Green Bay likely doesn't win this game, and he deserves huge recognition for his performance.
