The Green Bay Packers have a tough competition for their wide receiver spots on the roster, and one guy who could steal one of those spots is Darrius Shepherd. Bleacher Report released their one player to keep an eye on for every roster and for the Packers it was Shepard.

One reason that he needs to be watched is because of the amount of separation he has gotten from good cornerbacks like Jaire Alexander.

These are only practice reps, but if he can have a good showing during the preseason games, maybe he can do enough to earn one of the spots on the team.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has talked all training camp about how impressed he has been with the wide receiver room.

“The receiving group is very interesting, because there’s a lot of guys that have started off camp hot, on both ends of the field,” Rodgers said via PackersWire. “Besides the top guys, I think Allen has had a really nice camp, Jake has had a really nice camp, Trevor has had a really nice camp, I think Teo has made a bunch of plays on the other end.”

Shepherd was a standout with North Dakota State so he already has a lot of experience in playing in high-pressure games and winning championships, something the Packers hope to be doing a lot of of the next few years. If he can't make the Packers maybe he can show enough to get another team to put him on their active roster.
