Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Tom Brady is no longer a member of the New England Patriots. On a Thursday appearance on ESPN's Get Up, Devin McCourty shared who will fill the leadership void left behind by Brady.

“I think it will [now] be more veteran guys. Guys like Julian [Edelman], who hasn't got a ton of credit for his leadership, he's a guy who will step up.”

Surprisingly enough, Edelman has never been voted a team captain by his teammates. In his defense, there was a guy wearing No. 12 that received the same honors in Edelman's first 11 seasons with the Patriots.

But with Brady no longer present, there is going to be a changing of the guards in New England. McCourty, who is entering his 11th season with the Patriots, has been a leader on the defense since early in his career.

Seeing that he re-signed with New England this offseason, his leadership role likely won't change next season. If anything, McCourty may have to take even more responsibilities as a leader in 2020.

Besides McCourty and Edelman, the Patriots also have veterans like Dont'a Hightower, Marcus Cannon, and Stephon Gilmore that could step up as leaders moving forward. In addition, Mohamed Sanu and Marquise Lee could see mentor-esque roles in New England this offseason.

Without a doubt, it's never easy replacing the greatest quarterback of all-time. But even without his leadership, McCourty believes New England has players that can replace Brady's command of the locker room.
