The New Orleans Pelicans have undergone some major changes to their frontcourt this offseason that saw the departure of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins with veteran forward Julius Randle stepping in as his immediate replacement on a two-year, $18 million deal.

In light of that move, All-Star big man Anthony Davis has spoken quite highly of his new teammate praising the physical nature of Randle's game and scoring overall skill set, according to Angel Diaz of Complex.com.

The 23-year-old in his first four years in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers has developed into a dependable talent on the floor that has seen improvement in his play offensively. He's coming off a career-best campaign where he averaged a career-high 16.1 points on a career-best 55.8 percent shooting along with 8.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per contests while playing 82 games with 49 starts. In fact, he was the only in the NBA to post numbers with at least 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting at 55.5 percent from the floor.

Randle still has much room for improvement in his overall game with more consistency in his outside jumper and development of the use of his right hand, but he could help form a formidable duo in New Orleans alongside Davis. This marks the first time in his career that he's playing with an elite frontcourt talent that he could both learn and excel individually to greater heights then he has up to this point in his career.

These comments from Davis set up the opportunity for Randle to quickly fit into the fold to become a key piece to the puzzle in helping the Pelicans reach the playoffs next season in their quest to compete for an NBA title.
