The New Orleans Pelicans received some bad news, as guard Devonte' Graham was arrested and charged with a DWI on Thursday morning, per Jeff Reeves of Wake County News.

Raleigh native and NBA player Devonte’ Graham was arrested and charged with impaired driving early Thursday in Raleigh, arrest records show.

Graham was arrested and charged with a DWI in Raleigh, North Carolina early Thursday morning. The Pelicans guard was arrested by a Highway Patrol trooper at Capitol Boulevard and Peace Street at approximately 3 A.M., according to the records.

The 27-year-old guard listed his employer as the Pelicans. Wake County News reports that Graham was not listed as being in jail, “as of 10:45 A.M.”

A Raleigh, North Carolina native, Graham took the first step towards the NBA when he enrolled at Kansas. He spent four seasons with the Jayhawks and was then drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

He was promptly deal to the Charlotte Hornets, where he spent the first three seasons of his career. He emerged as a sharpshooter for the Pelicans in the 2019-20 season, knocking down 3.3 of his three-point attempts at a 37.5 percent clip.

The Pelicans acquired Graham in a sign-and-trade with the Hornets last summer. The Kansas product averaged 11.9 points and 4.2 assists while shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc in 76 games played for the Pelicans this past season.

Now, Devonte' Graham faces an uncertain future after his DWI and arrest, considering the team had reportedly made him available via trade in June. The Pelicans have yet to release a statement at the time of print.
