New Orleans Pelicans big man Jaxson Hayes is in a lot of trouble right now. The 21-year-old is now facing no less than 12 misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest from last July wherein he was reportedly tasered by Los Angeles police after a physical altercation.

According to TMZ Sports the Pelicans center has now been charged by Los Angeles County with his arrangement scheduled for February 15th:

“Hayes has been charged with 12 counts … including inflicting corporal injury (domestic violence charge), destroying property, use of force, resisting a police officer, using force and violence against an LAPD member, amongst other charges.”

Back in July, police officers reported to Hayes' home in Woodland Hills after a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute. Hayes had reportedly become loud and violent towards his girlfriend, which resulted in the cousin of Hayes' girlfriend making the call to the police. According to reports, the Pelicans' eighth overall pick from the 2019 NBA Draft shoved an officer to the wall after he would not be allowed back inside his house as the police questioned his girlfriend separately. The officer was later hospitalized for his injury.

The officers were reportedly able to get Hayes on the ground. At one point, the Pelicans player was heard saying, “I can't breathe” as one of the officers had his knee on his neck. After continued resistance from Hayes, the officers at the scene resorted to using a taser in order to subdue the 6-foot-11 big man.

Hayes has been a key part of New Orleans' rotation this season, averaging 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14.0 minutes off the bench.
