Zion Williamson's body conditioning has been the subject of mockery the past few months. After all, a lot of unflattering pics of the New Orleans Pelicans star showed him appearing to be not in good shape.

To recall, Williamson has been recovering from a foot injury that needed surgery. With that said, it was only natural to see him not in the best condition–though some were concerned about what they deemed as excessive weight gain.

However, now that he's back with the Pelicans and rejoined them in practice, Williamson seems to be in greater shape. New Orleans shared some photos of Williamson during Friday's practice on Twitter, and the youngster doesn't look anywhere near the out-of-condition forward that past photos make him out to be.

Several fans commented on the photo of Zion Williamson, sharing how they noticed he is “looking in shape.”

“Was just noticing that too. He looks even in better shape than last time he played and not even comparable to how he was in November. Idk if it was him locking in by himself or if it was because of the haters, but if it was at least the haters said something useful for once,” one of the commenters wrote.

Another fan said that Zion is “looking lean,” while another retweeted the photo and shared how the Pelicans star is “looking good.”

There are also others who criticized the media for reporting how overweight Williamson was, only to see him in better condition in his return to the Pelicans.

Zion was previously working out and rehabbing in Portland and it's only recently he rejoined the Pelicans. By the looks of it, all the work he's been doing is starting to finally pay off. While it remains to be seen when he'll be able to play again, it's definitely a good sign to see him in practice, laughing with his teammates and trying to get back to game shape.

The Pelicans are fighting for a play-in spot with CJ McCollum leading the way. Imagine what they can achieve when Zion returns and is able to get back to the level he was playing previously.
